Spin valley locking
WebUsing realistic tight-binding calculations, we reveal that this unusual behaviour is due to an inter-valley pairing that is symmetrically protected by Zeeman-type spin-valley locking against external magnetic fields. Our study sheds light on the interplay of inversion asymmetry with SOIs in confined geometries, and its role in superconductivity. WebFeb 12, 2016 · The valley configuration of X I is specified by the valley indices of its electron and hole. With the spin-valley locking in monolayer MX 2, a universal assignment of the valley index is applicable in the twisted heterostructures, and here we denote the valley with electron spin up as + K and spin down as − K in both layers. cota de la calleWebMay 7, 2024 · Valley-selective optical selection rules and a spin-valley locking in transition-metal dichalcogenide (TMDC) monolayers are at the heart of "valleytronic physics", which exploits the valley degree of freedom and has been a major research topic in recent years.
