Meissners corpuscles on skin cell
WebMeissner's corpuscles are rapidly-adapting, encapsulated neurons that responds to low-frequency vibrations and fine touch; they are located in the glabrous skin on fingertips and eyelids. Ruffini endings are slow adapting, encapsulated receptors that respond to skin stretch and are present in both the glabrous and hairy skin. WebMeissner’s corpuscles, Merkel cells, Pacinian cor-puscles, and Ruffini’s corpuscles are all forms of mechanoreceptors that contribute to sensations of touch (Gardner et al. 2000). The first 2 mechano-receptors have small receptive fields and are located superficially to Pacinian and Ruffini’s corpuscles in the skin.

WebMeissner's corpuscles are encapsulated unmyelinated nerve endings, which consist of flattened supportive cells arranged as horizontal lamellae surrounded by a connective tissue capsule. The corpuscle is between 30-140 μm in length and 40-60 μm in diameter A single nerve fiber meanders between the lamellae and throughout the corpuscle. Web2 mrt. 2024 · Immunohistochemistry. To confirm hematoxylin and eosin identification of Meissner-like corpuscles, two slides representing each group of interest (female and male, wild type and itga1-null) were selected for immunostaining of neurofilament-200 (NF200), a marker for myelinated sensory nerve fibers (Bakovic et al., 2024) and S100, a marker for …
