WebMay 9, 2008 · posted on 4/9/08 at 07:35 PM. There are some small differences even between 1.8's. Block is slightly different between Escort 1.8 and Mondeo 1.8 but nothing to worry about. Mondeo sump is much deeper than the Escort one and the water pump goes the wrong way.. also 2.0L flywheel is HUGE and doesn't fit behind a type 9 bellhousing.
