WebOriginally, the Church of the Intercession on the Nerl was part of a small monastery. In 1764 the monastery was closed, and the church was almost disassembled. In the XIX century the frescoes of the temple were completely lost. But in 1919 the Soviet government recognized the church as an art monument and the repairing work began.
